New Gear This Season

This snowboard season I have gotten some new gear that I am excited to try out as the snow starts falling and more resorts open up. One of the biggest new pieces of equipment I got was new bindings for my snowboard. I picked up the Union "Force" bindings this year because I had heard good things about it online. I also thought the design looked very sleek and clean. One of the traits that made me want to buy it was the ankle strap. On the bindings I had before, they had a leather strap which made the bindings feel bulkier and gave me less movement. I also think the leather looks worse compared to the rubber straps on the Force's. Another new piece of gear I got this year was my snowboard boots. As the season approached, I did not think I needed new boots but when I tried on my boots for the first time this season, I realized that I needed new boots. I went to a local ski and snowboard shop to try on boots. I tried on the Vans Aura Pros first. The Vans felt comfortable, but I noticed they were a lot wider than most boots and I did not really like that trait. Next, I tried on the K2 Maysis boots. I really liked these boots. They reminded me of my previous boots, which were Burton's. They were nice and comfortable; they had a double boa and were not as wide as the Vans. I also liked these because they matched my board which is also made by K2, the K2 Gateway. That's all the big upgrades I got this season and overall, I am really excited about them.
