Winter is Here!

In the past couple weeks, temps have been staying cold and many east coast resorts and mountains have been able to open up. While many of these mountains have had to rely on snowmaking to get a base on their trails, last week the east coast got our first winter storm that dropped over a foot in some places. More locally to me, Wachusett Mountain in Princeton, MA got around 8 inches, which allowed them to open 4 more trails. Temps have been staying cold enough during the day that even Wachusett is able to make snow 24/7. If we look further north, Killington Mountain has been making snow non-stop since they opened on November 12th. With the snowmaking and the recent snowfall, they have managed to open over 60 trails, which is above normal for this time of year. We can only hope that it stays cold and more natural snowfall comes within the next couple weeks.
